
Rachel Armstrong, Psychologist
Rachel Armstrong is an experienced Psychologist of sixteen years and brings an authentic, warm and practical approach to her practice. Rachel combines her passion for mindfulness, resilience and positive psychology with evidence-based tools to help people flourish, a process that she sees as unique for each person.
Rachel believes that difficult experiences can lead to growth, strength, and greater connection with others under the right conditions.
Effective as both a listener and a guide
Rachel is experienced in working with PTSD and trauma (including early life and complex trauma), stress, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal challenges.
Practicing since 2004, Rachel has worked with government, private industry, and private psychology practices in a range of settings which have cultivated a broad skill set and knowledge. Ongoing learning and compassion are strong values which, together, allow her to be effective as both a listener and a guide.
Mindfulness strategies
Rachel uses Mindfulness-based strategies as key tools to enhance relaxation, reduce stress, and help manage chronic physical or emotional pain.
Rachel is skilled in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming (EMDR), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR).
