Marina is an experienced and capable psychologist with a kind manner that instils trust. She has extensive experience with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and interpersonal challenges.
Marina’s own challenges and substantial life experience have brought a depth of character and deep compassion, and also taught her the strength that can be unlocked when one works through one’s struggles. Marina’s focus is therefore on overcoming old patterns of thinking that may be holding you back, and discovering your strengths and resilience. She combines proven psychological strategies with kindness, and she is a gentle and relatable psychologist that most people will find easy to connect with.
Therapy with Marina
Marina is skilled in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy and Mindfulness therapeutic techniques. She is particularly interested in fostering resilience and guides her clients with tools and ways to cope with, and recover better from, life’s unexpected challenges. Marina also assists clients with chronic pain, insomnia, eating disorders and other physical challenges. Furthermore, she has experience helping clients with low self-esteem, substance abuse, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, stress, burnout, grief and loss.
Marina works collaboratively and holistically with her clients, encouraging wholesome mindful activities like art, bushwalking, gardening and cooking outside of sessions. Therapy with Marina is focussed on establishing gradual whole-person change, so that upon completion of therapy, a client is empowered with new tools and mindsets to weather future challenges and live a happier, more fulfilled life.
